ARTMS is putting their single release on hold, but it’s not for creative differences or production delays. They are delaying the release due to the ongoing crisis in South Korea, where forest fires have left many displaced.
On Thursday, March 27, MODHAUS, the group’s agency released an official statement to postpone the release of their single album “BURN”. The statement reads
“We would like to inform you that the release of ARTMS’s single ‘BURN’, which was scheduled to be released at 6 PM on March 28, 2025, is
currently being rescheduled in coordination with our distributors. We will provide an update to OURII once the new release date is finalized.
Our heartfelt thoughts go out to everyone affected by the wildfires, and we ask for OURII’s understanding.
Thank you.”
Raging forest fires in South Korea have resulted in a devastating loss of life and property. The disaster has claimed 26 lives, with 8 people suffering serious injuries and 22 others sustaining minor injuries. 36,900 hectares of forest land was damaged. This exceeds the damage caused by the 2000 East Coast forest fire, which was previously the worst recorded in the country, affecting 23,794 hectares.
Many K-pop artists, Kdrama actors, comedians, and broadcasters have generously donated to support relief efforts. The list of donors includes SEVENTEEN, JYP Entertainment, Suga, j-hope, LE SSERAFIM, IVE, Karina, MONSTA X, Byeon Woo Seok, Kim Ji Won, IU, Lee Jong Suk, and more.
In related news, ARTMS decided to continue their journey with MODHAUS by signing a contract renewal. Their new single “ARTMS” is especially meaningful as it was originally scheduled for release after LOONA’s mini album repackage, “X X”. Comprised of five former members of the popular K-pop group LOONA, ARTMS re-debuted last year.
