Baekhyun has vowed to take strict legal action against malicious rumors and false information circulating about him.
The EXO member set up his independent agency in January 2024, which was established to manage the solo and unit activities of Baekhyun, Xiumin, and Chen. In May last year, it was acquired by ONE HUNDRED and is currently operating as its subsidiary.
On April 15, Baekhyun’s agency INB100 released an official statement to announce legal action against individuals spreading hate and misinformation. The statement reads,
We are providing an update on the legal action being taken against the spread of false information and malicious posts related to Baekhyun.
First, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the fans who have continuously provided us with information and patiently awaited updates regarding the protection of artist Baekhyun’s rights.
To protect the rights of our artist Baekhyun, we have been continuously monitoring and collecting evidence of malicious posts and comments targeting Baekhyun based on information provided by fans on various platforms, including SNS (Twitter, YouTube, etc.), online communities (DC Inside, Theqoo, Nate Pann, etc.), and Daum cafes (Women’s Generation, Soul Dresser, Jukbang Cafe, etc.).
Based on the collected data, we submitted a complaint to the Seoul Gwangjin Police Station on the 15th, alleging charges of insult, defamation, spreading false information, and sexual harassment.
Going forward, we will continue to monitor for malicious posts while carefully reviewing and storing the information provided by fans to gather evidence and continue to take strong legal action.
We will continue to take strong action without any leniency or compromise against malicious acts targeting our artists and staff, and will do our best to protect the rights of our artists.
Thank you once again for your continued interest and cooperation.
Baekhyun is facing backlash over claims that his actions have contributed to EXO’s recent struggles. A viral post on TheQoo suggests that his involvement in an ongoing legal dispute with SM Entertainment may have led to the cancellation of EXO’s winter album and other activities. Fans are frustrated and blame Baekhyun and his fellow members Chen and Xiumin for the alleged setbacks.
On the work front, Baekhyun dropped his 4th mini-album “Hello, World” in September 2024, which became a million-seller in its debut week. He recently released the digital single “Do What You Want” with American singer UMI on March 3.
