BLACKPINK’s long-awaited full-group comeback appears to be just around the corner. However, fans may need to wait a little longer than expected.

After months of speculation, YG Entertainment has confirmed that the group’s new album is in its final stages of completion. New rumors suggest that the release is now expected in January 2026. The label addressed rumors to Newsen in pretty much the same way as the last time.

The album is in its final stages to enhance musical quality. As soon as preparations are complete, we will deliver good news through official promotions.

This confirmation comes after a series of shifting timelines and rumors about when the group would return. YG chief Yang Hyun Suk himself confirmed that BLACKPINK’s new mini-album will arrive in November.

Later, Kmedia reported that the album release has been pushed to December since members are occupied with the ongoing tour and solo activities. Members Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé worked on new group music and upcoming solo comebacks during the nearly two-month break after the conclusion of the European leg of ‘Deadline.’

However, those plans appear to have been quietly moved to the new year. According to insiders, the members recently began filming their new music video together. This signaled that things are finally coming together for their long-overdue group project.

BLACKPINK’s comeback will mark their first group release since Born Pink in 2022, a comeback after three years. In 2024 and the first half of this year, each member has spent time pursuing solo ventures — Rosé released her debut album rosie in December 2024, Lisa dropped Alter Ego in February, Jisoo followed with AMORTAGE the same month, and Jennie wrapped up the solo cycle with Ruby in March.

Their individual schedules have made coordinating a group comeback challenging. However, YG’s statement confirms that the wait is nearly over. More recently, Jisoo has confirmed that the music video filming is completed.

Still, not all fans have been completely satisfied with how things have been handled. During their ongoing “DEADLINE” world tour, BLACKPINK performed a new track titled “JUMP” exclusively at concerts rather than releasing it digitally. This led to frustration among fans who couldn’t attend the shows. Many felt that this approach made the comeback feel distant and poorly timed.

Despite the delays, anticipation for BLACKPINK’s return remains high. The group is currently continuing their Asia tour, which includes 18 shows across seven cities, including stops in Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. The new album is reportedly near completion and promotions are expected to follow soon after.
