BLACKPINK is finally returning as a full group in February, and the excitement from fans is already massive. Previously, YG Entertainment confirmed that the group’s long-awaited comeback is set to arrive at the start of the new year.
The global K-pop group will release their third mini-album, ‘DEADLINE,’ on February 27, 2026.
The announcement was shared at midnight KST through BLACKPINK’s official social media accounts. A fast-paced teaser video confirmed the album title and release time. The album will drop at 1 p.m. KST (12 a.m. EST).
‘DEADLINE’ marks BLACKPINK’s first group mini-album since ‘BORN PINK’ in September 2022. This ends a gap of more than three and a half years. During that time, the members focused on solo projects and a massive world tour.
Early reports suggested a late 2025 release; however, the album was delayed to allow more time for completion and refinement.
The album shares its title with BLACKPINK’s ongoing ‘DEADLINE’ world tour, hinting at a connected theme. The tour is set to wrap up in Hong Kong on January 26, 2026.
The release will line up perfectly with BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary. In July, they dropped the single, “JUMP,” at the launch of their world tour, “Deadline.” The single was released without any prior promotions and still managed to debut at #28 on the Billboard HOT 100.
This comeback is their first album in almost four years. Most certainly, it is a major moment for BLINKs who have been waiting for the four members to reunite musically after a period of huge individual success.
Rosé recently described the upcoming era as a “creative reset.” She shared that she is deeply excited about the group’s new direction. Lisa has also teased fans, hinting that something big is on the way.
According to YG’s announcement on November 6, 2025, the group’s new album is already deep in the finishing stages. The company shared that “the album is in the final stages of completion,” and once preparations wrap up, the official promotional rollout will begin. Filming for the music video reportedly started last October.
Their last album together was BORN PINK, released in September 2022—a record-breaking project that debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. This made BLACKPINK the first female Korean act ever to achieve that milestone.
The BORN PINK World Tour, which ran through 2022 and 2023, became the highest-grossing girl group tour in history with over 1.8 million attendees worldwide. After reaching that level of global success, the group entered a new chapter when all four members’ individual contracts with YG expired in late 2023.
Rather than renewing their personal contracts, each member chose different directions for solo work. Even so, they all agreed to continue BLACKPINK’s group activities with YG Entertainment to ensure the group stays active together. What followed was a period of massive solo achievements for each member, which makes this reunion feel even bigger.
Jennie used the break to establish her own independent label, ODD ATELIER, where she has full creative control. She released her solo single album Ruby, which highlighted her confidence as both an artist and a producer. Lisa built on her explosive 2021 debut with LALISA and continued to dominate globally with the album, Alter Ego.
Rosé’s solo releases and collaborations, including the hit “APT.” with Bruno Mars, earned her major recognition, most notably the SOTY at MTV VMAs and Global Hitmaker of the Year award at Variety’s Hitmakers brunch. Rosé became the first K-pop female solo artist to receive three Grammy nominations for her massively viral song, APT.
Meanwhile, Jisoo balanced music, acting, and global brand work with ease. She released her solo debut AMORTAGE and appeared in zombie comedy Newtopia. After the recent release of her single “EYES CLOSED” with Zayn Malik, she is preparing to release her first studio album and acting comeback with Netflix’s Boyfriend on Demand in February.
All of this solo momentum has led directly into the massive “DEADLINE” world tour. The tour began in July in Seoul and has been filling stadiums in North America, Europe, and Asia. It is scheduled to wrap up in January 2026 with several dates in Hong Kong. Fans attending the final and encore stops of the tour may even get a first glimpse of the new songs live.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will drop their 3rd EP, Deadline, on all music platforms on February 27, 2026
