Let’s have a look at Jisoo’s confirmed lineup of projects for 2025

BLACKPINK Jisoo’s Upcoming Acting Projects

Jisoo has already wrapped filming for the upcoming Webtoon-based movie “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” and zombie thriller drama “Newtopia.” The Flower singer is set to begin filming for her first rom-com drama “Monthly Boyfriend” opposite Seo In Guk.

Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

Jisoo is making her screen debut with the multi-starrer movie “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint,” based on a web novel of the same name by Shin Shong.

The filming schedule for the highly-anticipated movie was completed on May 28. Filmmaker Kim Byung Woo announced the news on X, saying “Now the filming is complete, I believe that the hard work of all the actors and staff who have worked hard for nearly six months will shine.”

Along with the news, the director also confirmed the summer 2025 release.

“Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” is attracting a lot of attention and is predicted to be a box office hit thanks to the ensemble cast. The star-studded cast includes Lee Min Ho (as Yoo Jun Hyeok), Jisoo (as Lee Ji Hye), Ahn Hyo Seop (Kim Dok Ja), and Nana (as Jung Hui Won).

“Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” follows Kim Dok Ja, an ordinary office worker, who is the sole reader to have completed the 10-year-long fantasy web novel “Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World.” When reality merges with the novel’s world, Kim Dok Ja’s life collides with Yoo Joong-Hyeok, the story’s immortal protagonist with exceptional combat skills.

Newtopia

Jisoo announced the filming wrap for the zombie thriller “Newtopia” (formerly known as “Influenza”) on July 22. The filming schedule for “Newtopia” began in late December 2023 and wrapped in July 2024.

Co-written by Parasite writer Han Jin Won, “Newtopia” is Coupang Play’s first zombie drama, starring Jisoo (as Kang Young Joo) and Park Jeong Min (Lee Jae Yoon). The streaming service shared the first look of the drama “Newtopia” on August 1 and confirmed 2025 broadcast plans.

Amidst a zombie outbreak, soldier Lee Jae Yoon and his girlfriend, Kang Young Joo, navigate the treacherous streets of Seoul to reunite.

Monthly Boyfriend

On August 29, BLISSOO confirmed that Jisoo has received an offer to lead a new drama, “Monthly Boyfriend” (working title). Reports emerged that Seo In Guk has been cast as the male lead in the drama on September 10.

Later his agency Story J confirmed that he is positively reviewing an offer to lead the rom-com, “Monthly Boyfriend.”

As per recent reports, filming for the drama will begin in mid-October and continue till mid-April 2025. However, no broadcast plans have been confirmed, it is expected that “Monthly Boyfriend” might premiere in the second half of 2025.

Jisoo’s Hugely Awaited Solo Comeback

Jisoo debuted as a soloist in March 2023 with the single album “ME,” containing two tracks “Flower” and “All Eyes On Me.” With this album, she became the first female soloist to sell over one million copies.

Through Bubble, interviews, and other platforms, Jisoo has repeatedly hinted at working on new music. While the solo music release may not seem possible this year, it is expected that she will make a solo comeback early next year.

In the remaining months of 2024, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa are set to release their debut studio albums.

Last but not least, Jisoo will also resume activities with BLACKPINK. As officially confirmed by YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK will reunite in 2025 for a comeback and embark on a world tour.
