Rosé and Bruno Mars are rewriting the music history books with their collaborative single “APT.”
Inspired by a Korean drinking game, the song was released in October last year without any promotions. Still, it is charting in the top 5 of the Billboard HOT 100 and is expected to climb higher.
More recently, Rosé’s “APT.” shattered a major record by becoming the fastest song to hit one billion streams in Spotify history (100 days). Not to mention, it has become the fastest song ever by a K-pop act to achieve this milestone.
The top 10 fastest songs to surpass 1 Billion streams on Spotify are
- “Die With A Smile” – 96 days
- “APT.” – 100 days
- “Seven” – 108 days
- “Flowers” – 112 days
- “Espresso” – 117 days
- “Stay” – 118 days
- “As It Was” – 118 days
- “Who” – 118 days
- “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” – 119 days
- “Shape of You” – 153 days
It is quite remarkable that Rosé has surpassed many international artists such as Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and more. Additionally, she hit 1 billion streams faster with “APT.” than fellow K-pop artists Jungkook and Jimin.
The fun and quirky music video is also on its way to hit 1 billion views soon, currently standing at 967 million views.
More recently, “APT.” has tied with Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” for the record of most weeks (13) with over 500,000 points on the United World Chart.
In addition, Rosé’s album “rosie” has become the longest-charting album by a female K-pop soloist, with six weeks on the chart, surpassing Nayeon’s “IM NAYEON”.
Moreover, “rosie” is also the longest-charting album by a K-pop soloist in the Top 20, with six weeks. It surpassed Jungkook’s “Golden” which spent five weeks in the Top 20.
Meanwhile, Rosé recently reached a new all-time monthly listener peak for a K-pop act in Spotify history, with 71,124,800 listeners.
