BLACKPINK’s Rosé made a short but unforgettable stop at a PUMA event in Shanghai. Though her visit lasted only a moment, it reinforced her status as one of the most influential K-pop idols in the fashion world and as a key face of PUMA.
On September 7, Rosé’s schedule left little time in Shanghai, as she had to head straight to New York after the event for her appearance at the VMAs. According to fans on site, she “literally just passed by the venue,” making this one of her fastest brand appearances yet. Even so, her arrival was enough to electrify the crowd and capture the media’s attention.
The event came right after the release of the ROSÉ x PUMA Speedcat collection on August 28, which has been gaining momentum globally. The collaboration offers a balletcore-inspired take on the classic Speedcat sneaker, designed in leather and suede with subtle “ROSIE” branding on the tongue and insole.
The collection features three versions
- Black Premium Speedcat with leather uppers and white accents
- Warm White Premium Speedcat with a light base and black detailing
- Ballet Pink Speedcat, styled like a ballet slipper with ankle lace ties
During the Shanghai event, Rosé explained how personal this collaboration is to her, saying:
This is kind of a lot of me, I put a lot of ideas in, and it was a good, collaborative work with Puma. Kind of working with what they had and what might ideas and imaginations were. I brought in my samples, things I liked to wear, fabrics I liked, and I had to send them away for so long to study the fabric and stuff. And just from very small details to a lot of other things, it was a really good collaboration process. A lot of my ideas were put into that, and I am grateful for that.
The ROSÉ x PUMA Speedcat line is available now through PUMA.com, flagship stores, and select retailers worldwide.
Meanwhile, Rosé is the most nominated K-pop artist at the MTV VMAs and is scheduled to attend and present at the award ceremony, happening on September 8 (Korean time).
