Today brought some good news for BLINKs as they received an update on who BLACKPINK’s Rosé might be signing with.
Earlier today, Newsen reported that the 27-year-old is planning to sign with THE BLACK LABEL, founded by 1TYM’s Teddy.
THE BLACK LABEL addressed the rumors on June 17, stating that they are currently discussing an exclusive contract with Rosé.
Since the two sides are currently discussing contract terms, it is too early to say if the On The Ground singer would sign with the agency.
BLACKPINK made an exclusive deal with YG last year for their group activities. The agreement specified that YG would oversee BLACKPINK’s group commitments, while individual projects would be handled separately.
While Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa established their personal labels, Rosé did not make any official announcement regarding how she would pursue her career as a soloist.
Teddy and BLACKPINK have a long history of collaboration, dating back to their time at YG Entertainment. He has produced many of their hit songs, including their debut tracks Whistle and Boombayah, DDU-DU DDU-DU, How You Like That, and Shut Down.
Additionally, he has worked on solo projects with individual members, including Jennie’s Solo and You & Me, Lisa’s LALISA, and Jisoo’s Flower.
Lastly, the artists managed by THE BLACK LABEL include Park Bo Gum, Lee Jung Won, Ella Gross, BIGBANG’s Taeyang, Jeon Somi, and Zion.T.
