After waiting almost three years, fans are frustrated to learn that they are only getting one song, and even more disappointed that it won’t be released before the tour. There’s no clear marketing plan, no promotions, and many feel the comeback is being handled with little care.

On June 23, YG confirmed that the song will premiere at Goyang concerts, happening on July 5-6. BLACKPINK will open their world tour ‘Deadline’ in Goyang and premiere the song on the same day.

In a statement released today, YG stated

There were many discussions regarding the way the new song would be released. We have decided to unveil it first at the Goyang concert, which marks the starting point of the DEADLINE tour and holds the special meaning of reconnecting with our fans. Detailed information about the release date will be officially announced soon.

YG Entertainment, June 23, 2025

In May, YG founder Yang Hyun Suk announced BLACKPINK’s comeback with a new song this month, alongside plans for other groups. Despite BLACKPINK’s popularity, Yang spent less than 10 seconds discussing their comeback. This left fans frustrated due to the lack of a clear release window or promotional strategy.

No teasers, no promotions, and a world tour full of stadium-level arenas, fans believe it will be difficult to sell out venues in Europe and North America if there are not enough new songs or promotions. Previously, Yang Hyun Suk mentioned correcting past mistakes of limited releases, but BLINKs were upset that this didn’t seem to apply to BLACKPINK.

This could have been a huge comeback for BLACKPINK, with Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé coming together again after their successful solo activities. But fans are now feeling disappointed. Many believe this important moment in their career has not been handled well. Some are even starting to wonder if the group might be close to disbanding.

Fans criticized YG Entertainment for their poor marketing strategy with comments like

“At this point, just keep the damn song”

“It’s getting embarrassing”

“Just disband atp why even do all this when no one truly wants it”

“The day the tour starts and the group has no new content, no new album, no teasers, NOTHING”

“Very convenient way of no other promotion”

“We lost BLINKs it’s time to tap out”

“Why does YG hate BLINKs so much”

“YG is so dumb like they are giving us a tour with a song yet all the songs will be the same from the last tour”

This new song will be released 2 years and 8 months after the release of the album “Born Pink” in 2022.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is set to embark on a world tour that will cover 16 cities with a total of 31 performances, beginning with their Goyang concert in July. They take over major stadiums in cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
