2025 is shaping up to be a game-changing year for K-POP. With BTS and BLACKPINK set to make their comebacks, the industry is bracing for a major shake-up that will redefine the K-POP landscape.
Following a nearly two-year hiatus from group activities, BLACKPINK is set to reunite and reclaim the spotlight with a brand-new album in May. They will embark on an expansive world tour that will touch down in Asia, North America, and Europe.
It is expected that members Rosé, Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa will complete their solo activities by then. In addition, three members Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa will sequentially release solo debut albums in the first quarter of 2025.
During a recent YouTube video, Jennie revealed that the announcement of her solo album is to be made soon. She will release another single “Different from ‘Mantra’” and described the album as a “buffet”. In addition, Jennie teased a collaboration with two major artists for songs on the upcoming album.
Lisa has already set the tone for her comeback with three pre-release singles “MOONLIT FLOOR”, “New Woman”, and “ROCKSTAR”. In February, she will release her debut studio album “ALTER EGO” and make her Hollywood debut with HBO’s acclaimed series “The White Lotus”.
Jisoo has completed filming two acting projects “Newtopia” and “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” in 2024. She has moved on to her next acting endeavor “Boyfriend on Demand”, a romantic comedy with Seo In Guk. Jisoo is preparing for a solo music release and has asked fans to look forward to it.
On the other hand, Rosé has swept music charts with the release of her debut album “rosie”, dropped on December 6, last year. The pre-release single “APT.” with Bruno Mars and lead single “toxic till the end” is sweeping the music charts and breaking streaming records.
While BLINKs have enjoyed and listened to members’ solo releases, they eagerly await brand-new music from the group. It appears they only have to wait a few months before BLACKPINK returns with a bang.
