BLACKPINK has reached the end of an intense and historic chapter. Rosé’s recent words have made one thing clear: the group is stepping away from the stage “for a while.” The group concluded their nearly 7-month world tour, Deadline, in Hong Kong on January 26. It began in July last year, and BLACKPINK traveled Asia, North America, and Europe.
During the emotional final concert, Rosé asked fans to take in every moment, explaining that they would be “missing this atmosphere for a while.” She described the experience of performing night after night as an “absolute honour and privilege.”
The ‘APT.’ singer described the tour finale as “a celebration of this whole journey we’ve put on for the past 6 months, and if anything—for the past almost like 10 years.”
The comments came as BLACKPINK wrapped up their biggest tour ever, a 33-show, all-stadium world tour that ran for over six months. They will now drop their album, Deadline, on February 27, their first release in over three years. The five-track EP includes the pre-released single “Jump” and marks their first group project since Born Pink in 2022.
The quartet will hold encore concerts right after the release or possibly around their 10th debut anniversary in late 2026.
In addition to the Rosé comments, the rumors of BLACKPINK’s disbandment are also tied to their contract timeline with YG Entertainment. Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment for group activities in late 2023, in a deal widely reported to span three years. That agreement places the next round of renewal discussions in the second half of 2026.
Adding to the complexity, all four members now operate successful solo careers under their own labels. Jennie released her solo album Ruby, Jisoo made her first comeback with her EP Amortage, Lisa released Alter Ego and expanded her acting career, and Rosé released her solo LP Rosie.
This independence gives each member more freedom than ever before — and more choices.
The members themselves have repeatedly addressed disbandment fears in past interviews. Rosé has said that BLACKPINK is “family forever” and admitted that the idea of losing something so precious scares her. Jennie shared, “Even if we’re 70 and we have different lives, I’ll still feel like I’m BLACKPINK.” Lisa has openly said that thinking about an ending makes her “too sad.”
If the group renews contract with YG, it might go on another hiatus to pursue solo careers. After the release of the ‘Deadline’ album, Jisoo and Jennie have already confirmed solo releases.
