Jennie’s personal label Odd Atelier (OA) is getting a new home. The company, which has been running out of a single-family residence in Itaewon-dong, will be relocating to a freshly built property in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The move is set for November, just after the Itaewon lease comes to an end in October.
Reports confirm that the Hannam-dong building is currently undergoing interior work to prepare for OA’s new setup. The property itself is a neighborhood living facility with a total floor space of 927㎡, stretching from one basement level up to the fourth floor. Completed in April 2024, the building is noted for its rooftop, which looks out over the Han River.
The layout divides the space as follows: 75 pyeong in the basement, 38 pyeong on the first floor, 62 pyeong each on the second and third floors, and 42 pyeong on the fourth floor.
By the end of 2024, the property was circulating on the market with a deposit priced between 1.5 to 2.5 billion won (~1 million to 18 million USD) and a monthly rent ranging from 60 to 80 million won (~$43K to $57K). Its full sale value has been estimated at 45 billion won ($32 million).
Some in the industry have linked this office change to the controversy surrounding Jennie’s previous agency building, which was flagged for violating construction codes. While no direct explanation has been given, the timing has fueled speculation that the move is partly tied to that issue.
Jennie, meanwhile, has been balancing group and solo work. She renewed her contract with YG Entertainment in 2023 for BLACKPINK’s activities but launched Odd Atelier to focus on independent projects. Since then, OA has become her creative base for solo music and global collaborations.
In September 2024, Jennie signed with Columbia Records, teaming up with her own label to put out her comeback single this October under both banners. Then, this year, she struck a strategic deal with Alta Music Group, founded by former Spotify global head Jeremy Erlich, making him her U.S. manager for solo activities.
Alta will collaborate with OA on her U.S. promotions, while Odd Atelier retains control over her overall career direction.
