BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Finishes Filming ‘Influenza’, Set to Premiere in 2024

Jisoo from BLACKPINK had a busy first half of 2024 managing her time between shooting for two of her upcoming acting gigs.

The Flower singer is set to star in the new zombie thriller drama, Influenza and the multi-starrer movie, Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint.

On July 22, she shared a photo of herself holding flowers on her Instagram story with the caption, “I finished filming…,  Thank you all for your hard work!!!!!!!!!!

The filming for Influenza began on December 29, 2023, and officially wrapped on July 22, 2024. Jisoo was seen filming on set and received sweet surprises from friends on set during the filming period.

Influenza is a drama set in a Seoul high-rise, where soldier Jae Yoon (Park Jeong Min) and his girlfriend Yeong Ju (Jisoo), who’ve just broken up, fight zombies to reunite. Jae Yoon, a late-bloomer who enlisted at 26, must overcome his insecurities to lead his squad, while Yeong Ju, a rookie, discovers her strength in the battle for survival.

It is co-written by Parasite writer Han Jin Won and Ji Ho Jin, known for writing A Shop for Killers and When Time Stopped. Influenza is directed by Yoon Sung Hyun, who has won several best director awards.

The drama also stars Kim Joon Han, Im Sung Jae, Kim Chan Hyung, Lee Hak Joo, and more in supporting roles. 

Back in May, filming wrapped for her upcoming movie Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint starring Lee Minho, Ahn Hyo Seop, and Nana. The film is set to premiere in summer 2025 and they had a wrap-up party in May.

Now that Jisoo has wrapped filming for Influenza, she’ll be working on new music, as revealed by her in a conversation with a fan on Bubble.

On another note, BLACKPINK will hold a fansign event to celebrate 8th debut anniversary and meet 88 lucky fans.
