BLACKPINK’s Lisa took to the iconic Coachella 2025 stage once again on Friday, April 18 (local time). This time, she silenced critics with a much-improved performance and showed her vocal strength. The BLACKPINK star received rave reviews for her captivating stage presence and handling an on-stage glitch like a pro.
It seems Lisa took notice of the weak points in her first performance and delivered a better show for Coachella 2025 2nd weekend.
The 28-year-old K-pop star opened the set with a performance of “Thunder” followed by “FXCK UP THE WORLD”, the lead single from “ALTER EGO”. Next up, she performed her hit 2021 solo single “LALISA” and then rocked the stage with her Rosalía-collaborative track “New Woman”.
The “Rockstar” rapper then took a moment to talk to the audience, saying, “My name is Lisa, just so happy to be sharing this stage with you guys. How are we feeling today so far, Good? Who came last week? This week is gonna be crazier. Are you guys ready for the next song?”
Lisa performed “When I’m With You”, a collab with Tyla from her newly released album “ALTER EGO”. She delivered thrilling performances of “Dream”, “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)”, “Chill”, “Elastigirl”, “MONEY”, “Born Again”, and “Lifestyle”. Lisa wrapped her second Coachella performance with her smash hit “Rockstar”.
Her performance became even more impressive when she handled an unexpected issue with ease. Early in her set, her in-ear monitor seemed to come loose and fall. Without pausing or disrupting her delivery, she quickly and smoothly adjusted it like a seasoned performer.
Fans appreciated that her vocals were more audible this time around, with the backing audio significantly lowered to allow her voice to shine through. Social media was flooded with comments highlighting the improvement.
Thanks to her Coachella performance, her album “ALTER EGO” re-entered iTunes at #16, and the trend “LISACHELLA” topped Worldwide trends on X with over a million tweets.
“Lisa’s Coachella performance ate up not just the stage but also the haters”, one fan commented. Some fans, however, had mixed opinions about her stage presence and choreography, with a segment of netizens criticizing her bold moves as “overdone” or “too provocative”.
BLACKPINK member Jennie was in the crowd, vibing to her songs. Previously, Lisa also showed support for Jennie’s solo Coachella performance by attending it with Rosé.
Meanwhile, Lisa will continue BLACKPINK activities in the coming month, with a comeback scheduled for June. They have yet to coordinate the schedule for preparations for their upcoming comeback.
