History made! Rosé shatters Spotify records with new monthly listeners peak.
The 27-year-old singer has made Spotify history, breaking the record for the highest monthly listeners peak by a K-pop artist. With 46.5 million listeners, Rosé surpasses BTS’s previous record of 45.8 million.
Notably, she achieved this impressive feat with just three songs, and without the release of an album.
The “Gone” singer is expected to reach a new peak on Spotify after the release of her debut full-length album “rosie” on December 6.
BTS, previously the record-holder, now occupies second place with 45.8 million listeners peak. Jungkook, Jennie, and FIFTY FIFTY achieved impressive peaks of 40.1 million, 39 million, and 37.6 million listeners, respectively.
She pre-released a song “APT.” with Bruno Mars on October 18, which has led to a surge in monthly Spotify followers. She is breaking records left and right with this fun, upbeat song, based on a popular Korean drinking game.
With ‘APT.’, she set a new record for the highest-charting entry by a K-pop female soloist on the Billboard HOT 100 (#8) and UK Official Singles chart (#2). Previously, she broke the record for the biggest streaming day for a K-pop female act, surpassing BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom.”
Rosé surpassed another BTS’ record with 21.1 million streams for “APT.”, the largest streaming week ever on YouTube Music Korea, overtaking their song “Butter” (20.7M).
Her upcoming studio album “rosie” is a deeply personal collection of 12 tracks, sharing heartbreaking stories and ups and downs of the past few years.
December 6 can’t come soon enough for Rosé fans, who are itching to hear her new music.
