The box office battle between two of Korea’s biggest stars has begun.
“Harbin” starring Hyun Bin, Park Jeong Min, and Jeon Yeo Been was released in South Korea on December 24. It has occupied the top spot since its release date and is currently nearing 3 million moviegoers.
“Harbin” maintained its top spot on December 31, 2024, by attracting 212,408 viewers, accounting for 43.9% of the box office share. Directed by Woo Minho, this South Korean biographical period drama film tells the story of Ahn Jung Geun (Hyun Bin).
“Harbin” has already drawn in 2.72 million viewers, and is expected to hit the 3 million mark today.
Song Joong Ki’s “Bogota: City of the Lost” kicked off its box office by taking the top spot among same-day releases on its first day. The film drew in 97,296 viewers on December 31, according to the integrated computer network for movie tickets
In the new film “Bogota: City of the Lost”, Song Joong Ki stars as Kook Hee, a man who travels to Bogota, Colombia in search of a fresh start after the IMF crisis. However, he soon finds himself entangled with the city’s powerful Korean community, led by Soo Young (Lee Hee Joon) and Park Byeong Jang (Kwon Hae Hyo).
The movie is now playing in theaters nationwide.
