Two of the popular 5th-gen K-pop boy groups will clash in May!
BOYNEXTDOOR and RIIZE are scheduled to make a comeback in May with brand-new releases. While RIIZE will drop a full-length album, it is not yet clear whether BOYNEXTDOOR will release a studio album or another mini-album.
According to an exclusive report by Joy News24 on March 20, BOYNEXTDOOR is set to make their return to the music scene with the release of a brand-new album in May.
This upcoming release is the group’s first new music in four months, following the digital single ‘If I Say, I Love You’ in January. Additionally, it will be their first album in approximately eight months since their third mini-album ‘19.99’, dropped in September 2024.
‘If I Say, I Love You’, has maintained a strong presence on Melon’s music charts. Despite two months after its release it holds a top spot even two months later.
BOYNEXTDOOR has established itself as a popular 5th-generation boy group since their debut in May 2023. They will soon make a comeback, which is expected to coincide with the return of fellow 5th-generation group, RIIZE. Industry insiders report that the two groups will release new music within a week of each other.
BOYNEXTDOOR previously recorded 719,889 pre-orders for their 3rd mini-album “19.99”. As of February 2025, the album has sold 990,000 copies on Hanteo. They also entered the Billboard’s main album chart Billboard 200 with the release of “19.99”, debuting at #40.
In May 2023, BOYNEXFDOOR’s debut began with their single ‘WHO!’, which kicked off their ‘first love story trilogy’. This was followed by their first mini-album ‘WHY..’, which continued the story. The 2nd mini-album ‘HOW?’ completed the trilogy. The final installment explored the excitement of first love and the heartache of a first breakup.
Meanwhile, BOYNEXTDOOR is embarked on their fan meeting tour “KNOCK ON Vol. 1”. They will hold shows in Manila (March 22), Bangkok (March 29), Taipei (April 3), Hong Kong (April 6), and conclude in Jakarta (April 12).
