South Korean broadcaster Jo Seho has sparked controversy and backlash after his recent GRWM video was criticized for being overly promotional.
The video, which was meant to show his new house and him getting ready to buy a gift for his girlfriend, was flooded with blatant product placements and advertisements.
TV personality Jo Seho is receiving backlash for a video he posted on YouTube showing his new home on July 16. Netizens are saying it’s too much like an advertisement.
In the video, he gives a tour of his house, pointing out various rooms and products. He specifically promotes products from a brand, COACH, like chairs, clothes, and bags. He even visits their store to try out more products.
The video ends with a message saying it was paid for by the brand, COACH. Many think the video is more like a commercial than a genuine video of him going out to buy a gift.
As the criticism grew, he addressed the controversy by leaving a statement in the comment section of the video, stating, “We are deeply grateful to our subscribers for their loving advice regarding this content.”
He vowed to take into account the feedback of subscribers while creating new content.
He further shared, “I ask for your continued interest and harsh criticism in the future, and I and the channel’s Jo Seho production team will do our best to produce content that will satisfy subscribers.”
On another note, he is set to marry his girlfriend in October this year.
