South Korea celebrates Chuseok 2025, one of the biggest holidays of the year, and many K-pop idols have paused activities to spend time with their loved ones. BTS and BLACKPINK are taking a short but meaningful pause — while still keeping their eyes on their next major comebacks.
The weeklong holiday runs from October 3 to October 9, and has given even the busiest idols a chance to spend time with family before diving back into packed schedules.
BTS
This year’s Chuseok is extra special for BTS, marking their first holiday together as a fully reunited group since all seven members completed military service in June. Jin, j-hope, RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have officially entered the next era of their journey — one that fans have been waiting years to see.
The group is already deep in preparation for their full-group comeback, scheduled for spring 2026, which will include a new album and a world tour. According to BIGHIT MUSIC, the members are currently in the early production stages, with overseas recording sessions and tour planning expected to pick up later this year.
Despite their busy creative schedule, BTS plans to spend Chuseok focusing on family and rest. Each member is reportedly taking time to recharge before the intense months ahead.
For instance, V has attended Celine’s SS26 Paris Fashion Week show today. For fans, this holiday represents a peaceful moment before BTS’s long-awaited full reunion shakes the world once again.
BLACKPINK
Over at YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK is also balancing rest with relentless preparation. The group is working on a new album set for release in November, marking their first group comeback since “Born Pink” in 2022.
In August, YG’s Executive Producer Yang Hyun Suk confirmed that the production is in full swing, saying, “The members and the producers in charge are all working hard to prepare.”
While working on the new record, the members continue to stay active with global commitments. Rosé recently performed at the Global Citizen Festival and attended the runway show for Saint Laurent, where she serves as a global ambassador. Meanwhile, Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa are pursuing brand projects and filming schedules across the globe.
Jisoo and Lisa also turned heads at Dior and Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week show, while Jennie departed for France to attend the Chanel runway show on October 6.
Adding to the excitement, BLACKPINK’s massive “Deadline” world tour is still ongoing. The group recently made history as the first K-pop girl group to hold concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium, which too, two nights in a row. After the Chuseok break, they will head to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, for back-to-back shows on October 18 and 19, followed by stops in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Hong Kong through early 2026.
For BLACKPINK, the Chuseok holiday provides just a brief window of calm before another whirlwind of stages, airports, and rehearsals. The members plan to spend the holiday with family and close friends before returning to full-scale production mode for their comeback.
As both groups enjoy the Chuseok holiday, fans are well aware that this calm won’t last long. BTS is preparing to make one of the biggest comebacks in K-pop history, while BLACKPINK gears up to dominate the charts once again with their long-awaited album.
