j-hope, who is about to kick off his American leg of the solo world tour, has dropped another major announcement.
The BTS rapper is currently in the US, preparing for his upcoming concerts while also promoting his newly released single “Sweet Dreams” (ft. Miguel). He recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and performed “Sweet Dreams” with rapper Miguel.
On March 11 (KST), during a live broadcast on Weverse, j-hope announced that he will be releasing two brand new songs this year. While he did not reveal the timeline of release, the “NEURON” rapper shared that they will have different styles.
He revealed that while working on his album in the US, he considered what fans would enjoy, and the answer was simply “good music.” He will release three singles this year before his next full-length solo album. It is unlikely that the studio album will drop this year considering j-hope’s packed schedule with the world tour, which kicked off last month, and BTS activities in the latter half of the year.
j-hope has been connecting with fans actively after releasing new music. Recently, he held a 12-hour live broadcast on Weverse, followed by a fan event called “Sweet Dreamland” for online and offline interactions. In the US, he launched a pop-up event “Sweet Dreams Flowers” in New York, featuring a floral installation and handwritten message cards.
Moreover, he entered the HOT 100 chart with a collaborative song “LV Bag” at #83, his fifth entry on the chart. “LV Bag” by Dony Toliver and Speedy (ft. j-hope and Pharrell Williams) made its grand debut at the Louis Vuitton Men FW25 runway show during the Paris Fashion Week in January and was officially released last month.
It is expected that he will score his 6th Billboard HOT 100 entry with the release of “Sweet Dreams”.
Besides that, the 31-year-old rapper is actively appearing on variety shows such as MBC’s “I Live Alone”. He has scheduled appearances for several variety and web entertainment shows “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” and “Fairy Jaehyung”.
Meanwhile, j-hope is set to kick off his American leg of the world tour “HOPE ON THE STAGE” starting with shows in Brooklyn on March 14-15. Next, he will make stops in Chicago (March 17-18), Mexico City (March 22-23), and more. In addition, he will make history as the first K-pop solo artist to perform at the BMO Stadium in LA on April 4-6.
