BTS member Jimin has achieved remarkable milestones as a solo artist with his hit single “Like Crazy” and his debut album FACE. As BTS continues its group hiatus, the 27-year-old idol has emerged as one of the most successful K-pop soloists globally, with multiple chart records, certifications, and streaming milestones under his belt.

Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 Debut

Jimin’s single “Like Crazy” made history by debuting at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 on April 8, 2023. This achievement marked him as the first South Korean solo artist to claim the number one spot and also the first member of BTS to reach this milestone. Notably, he accomplished this feat with a Korean-language song.

In its first week, the single sold 254,000 combined digital downloads and CD singles. The song’s success also positioned him as the first Korean soloist to achieve a number-one single in the United States.

In July, Jungkook tied Jimin as the only K-pop soloists to score No.1 hit, with his English single, “Seven.”

Music Canada Gold Certification

In August 2023, “Like Crazy” was certified Gold by Music Canada for selling over 40,000 units. This is the first gold certification for a Korean solo song in over a decade, following Psy’s “Gangnam Style.”

Spotify and Streaming Records

In addition, “Like Crazy” broke records on Spotify, climbing to the number one position on the Global Top 200 chart on March 27, overtaking Miley Cyrus’ hit “Flowers.”

As of August 2023, the track had spent 29 weeks on the Billboard Global 200 chart, tying the record for the longest-charting Korean solo song. The single also became one of the fastest Korean solo tracks to achieve hundreds of millions of streams on Spotify, reflecting widespread international popularity.

‘FACE’ Album Success

Jimin also made waves with his debut solo album “FACE,” which launched in March 2023. The album entered the Billboard 200 chart at number two, setting a new personal record and establishing him as one of the most successful Korean solo artists on the U.S. charts. “FACE,” including tracks like “Face-Off,” “Alone,” and “Set Me Free Pt.2,” also topped the album charts in South Korea and Japan.

Additional Achievements

Following the success of “Like Crazy,” Jimin became the first K-pop soloist to top the Billboard Artist 100 chart. The single also led the iTunes Top Songs charts in all 119 regions where it was listed.

In other news, since BTS is on hiatus, members are releasing solo music. V will be the next one to drop his solo debut album, “Layover,” early next month, followed by Jungkook in November.
