K-pop superstar and BTS member Jin is set to make history as a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On Thursday, July 11, he departed from Incheon International Airport bound for France, where he will participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic torch relay as a torchbearer.
According to the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, Jin has been selected to be the first torchbearer for the Louvre section of the Olympic torch relay in Paris, scheduled for Sunday, July 14.
The Astronaut singer will commence his leg of the relay at the iconic Louvre Pyramid at approximately 8:30 PM.
This marks his first appearance at a high-profile event like the 2024 Paris Olympics following his military discharge.
With this, he is now the second BTS member linked to a major global sports event, after Jungkook’s show-stopping performance at the opening ceremony of FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November 2022.
Following his military discharge on June 12, Jin has been extremely active, accomplishing a lot in just one month. He has been filming content, landing multiple brand deals, working on new music, and announcing various projects.
Regarding work, news about his solo debut album is expected to be announced after Jimin releases his second mini album, MUSE.
