South Korean prosecutors have decided to suspend the indictment of a woman who attempted to break into BTS member Jungkook’s home.

According to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office, the woman was charged with attempted trespassing but was not indicted. The decision was made on September 10 and publicly announced on October 22, 2025. Prosecutors stated that the attempted break-in was unsuccessful and that the woman, who is a foreigner, had already left the country, meaning the risk of recurrence was low.

Attempted Intrusion on Jungkook’s Discharge Day

The case dates back to June 11, the very day Jungkook was discharged from his mandatory military service. Late that night, at around 11:20 p.m., the woman tried to enter his residence in Yongsan District, central Seoul, by repeatedly pressing random numbers on his digital door lock.

Police were called to the scene after receiving a report of the intrusion. They arrived promptly and arrested the woman on the spot, later referring her to prosecutors without detention on August 27.

During the investigation, the suspect reportedly told police she had traveled to South Korea specifically to see Jungkook after his discharge. Despite the alarming nature of the event, no physical harm was caused, and the prosecutors ultimately decided not to pursue formal charges.

This Was Not an Isolated Incident

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only incident involving unwanted intrusion into Jungkook’s personal space. Just a few months later, on August 31, another woman in her 40s was caught trespassing in the underground parking lot of his apartment complex.

According to police reports, the woman entered the building by following a car through the parking gate and later told authorities that she believed it was “a friend’s house.” Jungkook later shared during a live broadcast that he witnessed the incident in real time via his CCTV system.

Jungkook Responded to Repeated Break-ins

The repeated invasions eventually pushed Jungkook to speak directly to fans. During a live stream on September 1, which coincided with his birthday, the BTS star addressed the issue in a heartfelt but firm tone.

He warned,

“If you step into the parking lot of my home, you would not be able to leave unless I open the door for you. There are cameras everywhere. Unless you want to end up at the police station, do not ever come in.”

Jungkook also expressed his frustration and concern, clarifying that while he deeply appreciates his fans, certain actions cross a line:

“ARMYs are like family and friends… but I had to make it clear that being supportive is one thing, but what’s wrong is wrong.”

Reports of unauthorized entries, stalking, and even violent home invasions involving idols have been increasing in recent years. Despite strong legal warnings by agencies, sasaengs continue to trouble stars and invade their privacy.

On the work front, Jungkook is reunited with his BTS bandmates after military service to work on the new group album. At the same time, he is carrying out solo activities as well, such as a recent appearance at New York Fashion Week.
