BTS’ Suga made his first public appearance since his 2024 DUI controversy at j-hope’s “HOPE ON THE STAGE” encore concert in Seoul. The surprise sighting came just eight days before his military discharge on June 21.
On June 13, all BTS members reunited to cheer on j-hope at his encore concerts. While Jin and Jungkook joined him on stage, the remaining members were present in the audience.
Other members actively released new projects and remained connected with ARMYs through Weverse posts. On the other hand, fans did not hear much from Suga (Min Yoongi) except when he was embroiled in a DUI scandal in August last year. Following the incident, the rapper appeared before the police for questioning. He then apologized to the press, taking full responsibility for his actions.
He repeatedly apologized for driving an e-scooter drunk and was fined 15 million KRW in September last year. Since then, Suga has not updated any of his social media or made any public appearances. He was spotted by a fan earlier this year, but no photos were out.
ARMYs were concerned and longing to hear from him, and even trended many tags on X to show their support. Finally, they got a glimpse of Suga after months at j-hope’s concert. Dressed in casual attire, he hid his face with a mask and a beanie. Still, fans were happy to see him dancing along and having a good time with the members.
Fans were ecstatic to see him after such a long time and wrote many heartfelt comments
“Nice to see you, Yoongi”
“Just a few more days!! He’s coming back to us”
“Does he know how much we missed I almost forgot he’s real”
“War is over you all”
“It felt like more than two years since I last saw him”
“Didn’t expect him to be there, heart is full, OT7”
“We love seeing the members there but seeing Yoongi hits different”
BTS Suga was classified as a Grade-4 recruit and deemed unfit for active combat duty due to a shoulder injury. As a result, he enlisted as a public service worker in September 2023, and his service period was 21 months. He will be the final member to be discharged on June 21. RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook were recently discharged.
Meanwhile, BTS celebrates its 12th debut anniversary today, and it was made extra special by the reunion of members. While the group’s military enlistment era is almost over, BTS members will continue solo activities, with a group comeback expected in 2026.
