Despite being away for completing military service, BTS’ SUGA continues to break streaming and sales records.
Most importantly, he gets a spot back onto the Billboard main album chart with his first full-length album, D-DAY.
According to Billboard’s updated charts (as of July 20th), SUGA’s first solo full-length album, D-DAY, has climbed to the 169th position on the coveted Billboard 200 chart.
SUCA, aka Agust D, released his album D-DAY on April 21, 2023, containing 10 tracks including the title song Haegeum and pre-release track, People Pt. 2.
The album was a huge hit, reaching an impressive #2 on the Billboard 200 chart. This achievement tied the record for the highest Billboard 200 chart position ever achieved by a K-pop solo artist.
The album D-DAY re-entered the Billboard 200 chart due to a significant increase in LP sales, following BIGHIT MUSIC’s release of a special anniversary LP edition in April. The LP was released in stages:
- May 31: Korea and Japan
- July 5: North America and Europe
In addition, D-DAY achieved impressive chart performances across various Billboard charts, including:
- Vinyl Album Chart: #2
- World Album Chart: #3
- Top Current Album Chart: #7
- Top Album Sales Chart: #8
On another note, SUGA recently surpassed 4 billion cumulative streams on Spotify, including solo tracks and individual tracks from group albums.
