BIGHIT MUSIC, June 18, 2025
SUGA began his alternative military service in September 2023 after being assigned to social service duty rather than active military service due to a prior shoulder injury. His upcoming discharge will make him the final BTS member to complete service.
Active-duty soldiers are required to complete a service period of 18 months. However, it is a little longer for public service workers as they remain in service for 21 months.
Last week, four members, V, RM, Jimin, and Jungkook completed military service. Jin and j-hope had already returned to civilian life last year in June and October, respectively.
His discharge will bring BTS one step closer to resuming complete group promotions. HYBE and BIGHIT MUSIC previously shared that they are holding talks with members about post-discharge activity plans. It’s likely that BTS members will resume solo activities while working on their long-awaited group comeback. As per the statement by HYBE CEO Lee Jae Sang, the BTS comeback may happen next year.
