Suga, the last member serving, quietly completed his mandatory service on Wednesday, June 18. This marks the final step before the global superstars can reunite as a full group.

The rapper, who served as a social service worker since September 2023, used his remaining leave days to wrap up duties slightly ahead of his official discharge date (June 22). He served alternative military service due to a shoulder injury from a 2012 traffic accident. Suga was assigned as a social service worker, completing 21 months of administrative tasks in Seoul.

Previously, BIGHIT MUSIC also mentioned that there are no plans for any public events to celebrate his return. He is expected to focus on solo projects, potentially including music production and his talk show “Schwita”.

With Suga’s discharge, BTS’s military chapter has officially come to a close. Jin was the first to be discharged on June 12, 2024, followed by j-hope on October 17, 2024. RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook completed their service just last week.

Fans got a brief preview of BTS’ reunion earlier this month when all members attended j-hope’s concert in Goyang on June 13. The concert also coincided with the group’s 12th debut anniversary. The excitement peaked when Jin and Jungkook joined j-hope on stage while other members cheered from the audience.

Although BIGHIT MUSIC has not shared an exact date for BTS comeback, a HYBE official told the Korea Herald that the group is expected to return as a full unit in March next year. The source told the publication

Although the exact date has not been decided, it is highly likely to be in mid-March. I heard they will return around the same time as their brother group, TXT.

This will give them ample time to prepare for their long-awaited comeback. BTS made their final full-group comeback before Jin’s military enlistment on June 10, 2022, with the anthology album “Proof.” If the March 2026 comeback is confirmed, they will be returning to the music scene after four years.

With military service now behind them, BTS enters a new chapter where they can fully focus on music as a group while continuing individual projects. As the only artist to ever top Billboard’s Hot 100 as both a group and solo acts during their hiatus, expectations are sky-high for what the record-breaking act will deliver next.
