BTS’s Jimin has once again found himself at the center of dating speculation after actress Song Da Eun uploaded a video on TikTok. The video showed the idol arriving at the apartment building.
Filmed from outside an elevator, captured Jimin stepping out, looking startled, and then smiling as Song greeted him. The two were later seen walking inside together, which quickly fueled renewed gossip about their relationship.
The debate over whether the footage was authentic or manipulated became just as heated as the dating rumors themselves.
Many ARMYs expressed frustration at Song Da Eun’s decision to post the video, questioning whether she was trying to draw attention to herself at Jimin’s expense. The actress, who rose to fame after appearing on the dating reality show Heart Signal 2 in 2018, has occasionally been linked to Jimin in the past. Rumors about the two first surfaced in 2022 when fans spotted what seemed to be overlapping details in their Instagram activity.
For years, Jimin’s agency BIGHIT MUSIC stayed silent on the matter, stressing privacy over speculation. However, on August 31, the company released a statement to address the escalating situation.
The agency explained:
Out of respect for Jimin’s privacy and the individual mentioned in relation to him, we have refrained from making any statements until now. However, due to numerous speculative reports and unfounded rumors surrounding the artist’s private life, we inevitably feel the need to clarify the minimum facts. The artist and the individual were once fond of each other and maintained a connection in the past, but that was several years ago, and they are not in a relationship now.
BIGHIT closed by urging fans to “refrain from reckless speculation about private matters.”
Korean news outlets have since reported that Jimin and Song Da Eun briefly dated around the time he began his military enlistment in December 2023, but the relationship ended not long after. The agency’s statement makes it clear that their connection belongs in the past, and both sides have since moved on.
During the past couple of years, Song Da Eun herself dropped several ‘clues’ to hint at her relationship with the “Like Crazy” singer. In May last year, Song posted an Instagram story that fans thought included Jimin. She also shared photos of earphones marked with both their names, selfies wearing BTS merchandise, and short clips seen as subtle nods to him.
With BIGHIT MUSIC’s long-awaited statement, dating rumors have finally been put to rest.
Meanwhile, Jimin and the BTS members are working on their forthcoming group album in the US.
