On February 3, SBS confirmed the leading cast lineup for its upcoming drama “Would You Marry Me” (working title) as well as broadcast plans. Starring Jung So Min and Choi Woo Shik in lead roles, the drama is scheduled to start airing on SBS in the latter half of the year.

SBS’s new romantic comedy, “Would You Marry Me”, is a drama about a fake newlywed couple. The show is produced by Samhwa Networks and Studio S. It follows the couple’s 90-day journey as they compete to win a luxury home.

Choi Woo Shik has been cast as Kim Woo Joo, a 4th-gen heir and marketing team leader of Myeongsundang, a renowned Korean bakery with an 80-year history. The character is described as a narcissistic and driven individual who becomes entangled in a fake marriage with Yoo Mary, a designer from a partner company.

He is a versatile actor known for his amazing performances in various genres. His notable works include the dramas “Our Beloved Summer” and “A Killer Paradox”, as well as the film “Parasite”.

After his breathtaking performance in “Our Beloved Summer”, attention is focused on whether Choi Woo Shik will successfully create another captivating romance story with “Would You Marry Me”.

He is set to romance Park Bo Young in his upcoming romance drama on Netflix “Melo Movie”, slated for February 14.

On the other hand, Jung So Min stars as Yoo Mary, a passionate and quirky living designer. After a string of setbacks, including a broken engagement and a housing scam, Yoo Mary is desperate to hold on to her dream townhouse. To keep it, she needs a husband, so she proposes a fake marriage to Kim Woo Joo.

Jung So Min has won the hearts of audiences with her versatile acting in dramas like “Love Next Door”, “Alchemy of Souls”, and “Because This is My First Life”. Notably, her sweet romance with Jung Hae In in “Love Next Door” solidified her status as a romantic comedy star.

Fans are also eager to see the chemistry between Jung So Min and co-star Choi Woo Shik as they portray a fake newlywed couple.

Meanwhile, “Would You Marry Me” will premiere on SBS in the 2nd half of the year.
