Production by Studio S and Samhwa Networks, the teaser trailer teases their chaotic contract marriage, blossoming feelings, and the clash between the leads. As the drama premieres next month, here is everything you need to know about Would You Marry Me?

‘Would You Marry Me?’ Release Date

The 12-episode romantic comedy ‘Would You Marry Me’ premieres on October 10, airing every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM KST on SBS TV. The drama will conclude its run on November 15. Kdrama fans can watch episodes on Disney+, shortly after broadcast on SBS.

Plot Overview

Would You Marry Me? follows Yoo Me Ri (Jung So Min), a hardworking designer running a small business while struggling to keep her life together. After discovering her fiancé’s infidelity, she calls off the wedding, only to face further setbacks when she falls victim to a rental scam and sees her future collapse. Just when things seem unbearable, she wins a luxury newlywed apartment through a promotional giveaway. However, the prize requires her to be married.

In a twist of fate, she crosses paths with Kim Woo Ju (Choi Woo Shik), the brilliant yet self-centered heir to South Korea’s oldest bakery, Myeongsoondang. Coincidentally, he shares the same name as her cheating ex-fiancé. Desperate, Me Ri proposes a 90-day contract marriage to Woo Ju in order to claim the apartment. Although skeptical, Woo Joo accepts, and the two begin posing as newlyweds.

Cast Lineup

  • Choi Woo Shik as Kim Woo Ju: A marketing genius and heir to Myeongsoondang. Though arrogant and narcissistic, he unexpectedly agrees to Me Ri’s unusual request. Choi makes a quick return to the romance genre after his appearance in Netflix’s Melo Movie. He has taken on diverse genres in his over a decade-old career with roles in Oscar-winning movie Parasite, romance drama Our Beloved Summer, and thriller A Killer Paradox.
  • Jung So Min as Yoo Me Ri: A resilient designer who decides to fake a marriage to secure the home she desperately needs. Last year, Jung made quite a splash with the romantic comedy Love Next Door, opposite Jung Hae In. Unlike Choi Woo Shik, Jung So Min’s filmography is largely dominated by romance dramas, including Alchemy of Souls, My Father is Strange, and Because This is My First Life.
  • Seo Bum June as Kim Woo Joo (Me Ri’s former fiancé): His betrayal and dishonesty drive Me Ri to her lowest point. His acting credits include Hierarchy, Rookie Cops, and The First Night with the Duke.
  • Bae Na Ra as Baek Sang Hyun: A sharp-eyed department store executive monitoring the fake marriage’s authenticity. Bae recently starred in romance drama Tastefully Yours and Weak Hero Class 2.
  • Shin Seul Ki as Yoon Jin Kyung: A family doctor and Woo Joo’s supposed soulmate, whose presence complicates the arrangement. Shin recently garnered praise with her appearance in The Haunted Palace, Pyramid Game, and For Eagle Brothers.

‘Would You Marry Me?’ Trailer

The first teaser, released this month, highlights the drama’s lighthearted yet emotional energy. It features Me Ri’s bold proposal, the couple’s awkwardly staged wedding shoot, and their attempts to keep up appearances as newlyweds. Subtle hints at Woo Ju’s personal reasons for agreeing suggest deeper layers to the story.

Production Team

Would You Marry Me? is directed by Song Hyun Wook, known for The King’s Affection and The Midnight Studio, alongside Hwang In Hyeok (Moonshine, The Iron Empress). The script is written by Lee Ha Na, who previously worked on Rookie Cops and Cunning Single Lady.

Fans can look forward to its premiere on October 10, as the drama brings Yoo Me Ri and Kim Woo Ju’s unconventional love story to life.
