Singer Chungha has announced her decision to step down from her DJ role on Chungha’s Volume Up!
On September 30, her agency MORE VISION shared the news, stating, “Chungha will be leaving KBS Cool FM’s “Chungha’s Volume Up” after the broadcast on October 6.”
The 28-year-old singer will host her final live broadcast on October 4, followed by pre-recorded farewell messages on October 5-6.
Regarding her one-year journey, she said, ‘It was a precious time that I will remember for the rest of my life, an experience that cannot be had anywhere else. Thanks to your always cherishing and warmly embracing my shortcomings, I was able to grow a lot,” and, “I will feel empty for a while.'”
The Gotta Go singer explained that she chose to step down to prioritize her music career. Despite the difficulty, she believes this decision will help her grow as a singer.
In her final farewell, she expressed gratitude to all listeners and requested continued support for “Volume Up” in the future. She has been the DJ for the show for a year, appointed on October 2, 2023.
Chungha will shift her focus to musical endeavors after she departs from Volume Up. She released a digital single, Algorithm, on August 28 at 6 PM KST.
