On October 25, Xports News reported that Jeon Soyeon will part ways with Cube Entertainment as contract renewal discussions have ended without an agreement.

The 26-year-old K-pop idol had subtly hinted at her contract expiration during (G)I-DLE’s world tour in August, modifying her lyrics to “My contract ends in November, who’s stopping me.”

At the time, Cube Entertainment admitted that the contract renewal for (G)I-DLE members was impending but the modified lyrics were just part of the performance.

If reports are true, Soyeon will leave Cube Entertainment after contract renewal talks fail. As a result, (G)I-DLE will temporarily perform as a four-member group.

Previously, rumors suggested she may join KOZ Entertainment, founded by her friend Zico.

In response to the recent media reports, Cube Entertainment stated, “We are currently discussing a contract renewal with Jeon Soyeon” and added, “Scheduled activities will proceed as planned.”

Prior to joining (G)I-DLE, Soyeon made a name for herself with her solo debut in November 2017. She then took on the role of leader when (G)I-DLE debuted in May 2018.
