DAY6 has signed a contract extension with JYP Entertainment as they approach their 10th debut anniversary on September 7. All four current members—Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon—will continue with the agency, which promised full support for the band’s future activities.
JYP stated, “We will continue to provide full support and encouragement to Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, Dowoon, and their fans for a brighter future.”
DAY6 first stepped onto the music scene in 2015 with six members: Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Wonpil, Dowoon, and Junhyeok. After Junhyeok left in 2016, the five-member lineup continued to grow. The group suffered another setback with the departure of Jae in 2020.
To celebrate their 10th anniversary, DAY6 will release their fourth full-length album, The DECADE, today at 6 PM. The album features 10 tracks, including double title songs Dream Bus and INSIDE OUT, as well as Disco Day, My Way, It’s Finally Ending, and Our Season.
Ahead of their new album release, the members shared their heartfelt reflections. Sungjin said, “I am simply grateful that we are still making music up to our 10th anniversary. This album will likely remain in my memory as a ‘special album commemorating our 10th anniversary.’”
Young K added, “It’s an opportunity to look back on the past 10 years, and at the same time, it feels like a new chapter is beginning. I am thankful to everyone who has run alongside us so far, and I feel a deep affection. I’m also looking forward to the time ahead.”
Wonpil said, “The day of our 10th anniversary has come for us as well. I always thought it was far in the future, so I’m truly grateful and happy to be able to celebrate it with my hyungs and Dowoon.”
Dowoon commented, “For me, this album will be remembered as a party with my hyungs and our My Day after 10 years.”
With their renewed contracts and the upcoming album, DAY6 is ready to celebrate a decade of music and continue creating songs and performances.
On another note, DAY6 has become the second JYP K-pop group, following Stray Kids, to renew their contracts recently. Discussions are still ongoing with TWICE, though some reports suggest the members have already completed their renewals. An official announcement is expected to be made around their 10th debut anniversary next month.
Meanwhile, DAY6 will take over Impact Arena in Bangkok on September 27 as part of their anniversary tour, The Decade. Additional stops include Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Manila, and Kuala Lumpur, wrapping on January 31, 2026.
