It’s time for a wake-up call at HYBE! The ARMY, BTS’s fiercely loyal fan base, has had enough of the entertainment company’s mishandling of the ADOR feud and the group being dragged into it.
On May 3, ARMY put condolences wreaths in front of HYBE quarters with multiple messages written on it. The messages on wreaths said, ‘Do not use BTS as your shield,’ ‘When you need, u call them ‘our BTS’, when you are in trouble, you use them as your shield for bullet dodging,’ and ‘most incompetent agency in the industry.’
ARMY did not just stop there, they released a statement in the style of a full-page advertisement in certain newspapers on May 3, declaring, “We stand by BTS, not HYBE.”
ARMY expressed that they want HYBE’s Chairman Bang Si Hyuk and CEO Park Ji Won to stop using BTS as a shield for the agency’s issues. They believe that BIGHIT MUSIC is responsible for unfairly attacking BTS. They are calling for a serious response, including legal action and clear communication on the progress to resolve the situation.
ARMY stressed that safeguarding artists is a fundamental duty of an agency, which BTS’ current agency is not fulfilling faithfully. They highlighted that this failure could potentially lead to contract termination and demanded immediate fulfillment of the agency’s responsibilities.
At present, HYBE is embroiled in a management dispute with its subsidiary ADOR. HYBE lodged a complaint with the police, accusing ADOR executives, including CEO Min Hee Jin, of attempting to take control of HYBE’s management rights, citing breach of trust among other charges.
CEO Min Hee Jin vehemently refutes these allegations.
In the wake of the HYBE-ADOR conflict, allegations were made against BTS for engaging in marketing manipulation, stealing concepts, and affiliation with a cult. HYBE denied these accusations and declared their intention to take legal measures against the dissemination of misinformation.
