ENHYPEN is fighting back against privacy invaders. The K-pop boy group has announced that they will take legal action against those who have crossed the line and violated their personal boundaries.

The 7-member K-pop group has been repeatedly harassed by sasaengs in public and private spaces. Previously, many shocking incidents were reported where these obsessive fans took the same flight as them and took pictures without their permission.

On March 5, their agency BELIFT LAB announced legal actions against privacy invaders, stating

“We have recently witnessed serious illegal stalking incidents involving individuals who have bribed delivery workers or drivers to trespass into our artists’ residences, photographing them and selling the photographs. In response, we have initiated criminal proceedings based on the evidence obtained, including security camera footage.

Furthermore, we continue to experience frequent privacy infringements and stalking behaviors, such as using illegally purchased information to board the same flights as our artists, as well as persistently and repeatedly taking unauthorized photographs of the artists in private spaces. We would like to make clear that these actions cause serious harm to our artists and constitute stalking behaviors that explicitly violate our artists’ consent.

We are continuously collecting and documenting evidence that can identify these perpetrators. Based on such evidence and reports from our fans, we are actively pursuing reporting and filing complaints with the relevant authority. We will fully cooperate with the investigative agency to ensure prompt and thorough investigations into these matters.”

BELIFT LAB has uncovered organized efforts in online chatrooms to spread false rumors and sell damaging information about ENHYPEN members. They are now gathering evidence and taking strong legal action against these illegal activities.

“Continuously making phone calls including sending obscene messages to artists’ mobile phones ▲Following artists in their private lives ▲Illegally obtaining and selling artists’ personal information and videos ▲Continuously making phone calls including sending obscene messages to artists’ mobile phones ▲Other actions that violate artists’ privacy”

BELIFT LAB thanked fans for reporting perpetrators and requested them to submit more information through HYBE Artist Rights Violation Reporting Site (protect.hybecorp.com).

They also requested fans to respect artists’ personal space at airports and avoid excessive physical contact or interference.

Additionally, the label refrained from taking close-up photos in restricted areas. They also advised them against buying or selling artists’ flight information, which is a prosecutable offense.

BELIFT LAB concluded,

“Stalkers and individuals found guilty of such violations will be barred from participating in artist-related events. We have reported several cases of stalking in order to protect our artists, and police investigations are currently underway. Please kindly understand our decision to withhold real-time updates in order to ensure the effectiveness of the ongoing investigations.”
