ENGENEs were ecstatic when ENHYPEN’s hit webcomic, Blood Moon: The Dark Altar, was announced to receive an anime adaptation.

With over 190 million views, “Dark Moon: The Blood Altar” is a smash-hit webtoon that follows seven students at the prestigious Decelis Academy. Modeled after ENHYPEN’s members, their encounter with an enigmatic transfer student sets off a series of unforgettable events.

The anime adaptation was announced earlier this month, therefore, not much details have been out at the moment.

ENHYPEN’s ‘Blood Moon: The Dark Altar’: Teaser

HYBE announced that Japanese production giant Aniplex will bring ENHYPEN’s popular webtoon series, “Dark Moon: The Blood Altar,” to life as an animated series.

On Monday, Aniplex, a Sony Music Japan subsidiary, dropped the exciting news during its Online Fest 2024.

Synopsis

The 2022 webtoon series and novel are rooted in Enhypen’s musical universe, exploring vampiric themes introduced in their 2021 music video Drunk-Dazed and continue to evolve through their music videos.

“Dark Moon: The Blood Altar,” a captivating supernatural romance series from HYBE, centers around enigmatic female transfer student Sooha, whose arrival at Riverfield sparks intrigue among the vampire students of Decelis Academy and their werewolf rivals.

“Dark Moon: The Blood Altar” concluded its 70-chapter run from January 15, 2022, to August 12, 2023. Its prequel series, “Children of Vamfield,” launched on WEBTOON in March 2024, exploring the tumultuous lives of young vampire brothers under Ms. Marge’s care at Vamfield House. The latest episode (26) debuted on September 14, 2024.
