YG Entertainment has introduced the first member of its upcoming girl group, tentatively NEXT MONSTER, 15-year-old Australian trainee Evelli. The company revealed her through a performance video where she covered Doechii’s “Nosebleeds” showcasing her rap and vocal skills.
A new girl group by YG is in the works, with four members already selected and undergoing intense training to hone their skills. The announcement about the group was made by Yang Hyun on May 26.
The newly revealed YG Entertainment trainee Evelli has caught attention with her impressive skills in the company’s monthly evaluation video. Her cover of “Nosebleeds” has garnered 1.2 million views in less than 11 hours of its release.
From the first beat, the 15-year-old Australian performer stood out with her striking visuals and distinctive low-to-mid-range voice. She showed excellent musical control, smoothly adjusting her delivery between slower, heavier verses and fast-paced rapping.
Viewers were particularly impressed by her natural stage presence, which seems advanced for someone her age. Her confident attitude, stylish movements, and expressive performance received praise from fans.
Evelli trained at YG for two years before landing a spot in the new group. Born on March 29, 2010, is now YG Entertainment’s youngest trainee, taking the title from Chiquita of BABYMONSTER, who is 16 (born February 17, 2009).
She is fluent in English, Korean, and Spanish, and her MBTI personality type is ENFJ. Fans are reminded of Jennie when they see Evelli, not just because of their similar looks, but also due to her impressive rap skills. Jennie was also introduced as BLACKPINK’s talented rapper. She is now a global star, nearly 9 years after debuting with BLACKPINK.
The new girl group will have four members, and YG plans to reveal the others gradually. YG’s CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, has expressed confidence in the group’s potential. He plans to reveal the solo tracks of each member before their official debut.
As the first member unveiled, Evelli sets the tone for NEXT MONSTER, which aims to follow in the footsteps of successful YG acts like BLACKPINK and BABYMONSTER. Fans can expect more updates as YG continues to introduce the remaining members.
