On August 28, SM Entertainment announced the news of his removal from the group due to an unspecified sexual crime.

Today (August 29), Bangbae Police Station in Seoul confirmed that Taeil was booked for an alleged sexual offense in June. The police have confirmed that they are currently investigating the matter.

Recently, SM Entertainment announced that Taeil has been implicated in a criminal case related to sexual offenses.

They indicated that, upon investigating the facts, they recognized the seriousness of the situation and decided he could no longer continue with team activities. After discussions with Taeil, it was determined that he would leave the team.

Additionally, SM mentioned that Taeil is currently cooperating fully with the police investigation and that they will provide further updates as the situation progresses.

He has been part of the group activities since August 2023 after he had an accident. However, Taeil attended the group’s 8th-debut anniversary, 8ECRET INVITATION in June.

There have been a lot of speculations going around about the alleged offense and NCTzens are anxiously awaiting the investigation outcome.

Lastly, Taeil debuted as a member of NCT U, a sub-unit of NCT, in 2016 and has since been active in both NCT and its sub-group NCT 127.
