Ex-NCT Member Taeil Reportedly Faces Prosecution on Quasi-Rape Charges

Former NCT Member Taeil

Sexual assault allegations against Taeil first surfaced in August, however, the details of the incident were not revealed.

The former NCT member is currently under investigation for alleged involvement in a sexual crime.

As exclusively reported by The Chosun Ilbo on October 7, Taeil was referred to the prosecution without detention on September 12, facing charges of quasi-rape.

In June, he was indicted for allegedly sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman, along with two non-celebrity acquaintances.

SM Entertainment announced his withdrawal from the group on August 28, after he was summoned for questioning and indicted in a sexual assault case. The agency acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations and, in discussion with Taeil, decided to end his team activities.

After the news surfaced, SM Entertainment received criticism for not taking any action and letting him participate in team activities and interact with female fans despite the seriousness of his sexual assault allegations.

In response, the label claimed they and Taeil only learned of the lawsuit in mid-August and that Taeil cooperated with police questioning on August 28.

After his removal from the group, NCT members promptly unfollowed his personal social media account, Subsequently, Taeil made his account private.
