EXID’s Hani and her fiancé, Yang Jae Woong, have reportedly postponed their wedding plans amid a controversy surrounding a patient’s death at Yang’s clinic.
The couple’s marriage, initially scheduled for September, has been put on hold as Yang Jae Woong faces scrutiny over allegations of negligence related to the patient’s death.
With just a month to go until the wedding, word on the street is that the couple may postpone their nuptials
Hani, a member of the popular girl group EXID, and Yang, a psychiatrist, announced their engagement in June.
Hani’s agency, Sublime, and Yang Jae Woong’s agency, Mystic Story, have both declined to comment on the rumors of a wedding postponement. When asked about the speculation, both agencies responded similarly, stating that they could not confirm any details about their personal life.
A tragic incident occurred in May at a psychiatric hospital in Bucheon, owned by Yang Jae Woong, resulting in the death of a woman in her 30s. According to the police, the woman passed away 17 days after being hospitalized, with pseudo-intestinal obstruction believed to be the cause of death.
However, the deceased’s family alleges that the hospital was negligent in responding to her complaints of abdominal pain, ultimately leading to her tragic demise. The family has since filed a complaint against the hospital, accusing them of neglect that resulted in the patient’s death.
In light of the situation, the couple has reportedly decided to delay their wedding to focus on resolving the issue and clearing Yang’s name.
