EXO-CBX Goes to Court Against SM Entertainment Over Contract Dispute

EXO-CBX

Things have been escalating pretty quickly after EXO-CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin) accused SM Entertainment of not complying with the agreement.

After their press conference on June 10, SM Entertainment officially sued EXO-CBX on June 12 and refuted all the claims.

In a recent development, CBX’s agency INB100 announced, “Through the relevant litigation process, we will claim our legitimate rights by receiving accounting data and settlement data stipulated by the law and exclusive contract. It will also be revealed in court that SM’s settlement system is incorrect.”

INB100 stated they would pursue a fair legal judgment on the unfairness of the exclusive contract by lodging a complaint with the Fair Trade Commission. EXO-CBX has also responded with legal action after SM Entertainment initiated a lawsuit.

Previously, SM took legal action for contract fulfillment against CBX at the Seoul Eastern District Court on the 12th, stating, “We will act in line with the law and principles.” According to the contract terms, a payment of 10% of the proceeds from activities under the individual’s name was demanded.

On another note, there were reports that EXO’s winter comeback will not proceed as planned due to conflict between the agency and three EXO members, Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin.

INB100 swiftly denied the reports saying that CBX will prioritize group activities. On the other hand, SM Entertainment also denied postponement, saying there have been no discussions about delay.
