EXO member and actor Doh Kyungsoo recently opened up about his regret over not being able to attend the wedding of his close friend, actor Kim Woo Bin. During an interview for the Disney+ original drama The Manipulated on December 11, held at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, he spoke honestly about the situation.
Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah will be getting married on December 20 after years of dating. However, the date overlaps with EXO’s appearance at the 2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA), where Doh Kyungsoo is scheduled to perform as a member of the group. Because of this, he will naturally be unable to attend the ceremony.
Doh Kyungsoo sighed as he explained,
“I’m not sure if I should say this, but it’s obvious. Work is work, and it’s really important. A wedding is also really important, but if I think about what has to come first, of course, I think EXO comes first.”
He added that although the situation hurts, he knows Kim Woo Bin understands, and he still feels regretful,
It breaks my heart, but I just have to do better for Woo Bin hyung. He knows it can’t be helped, so even though we’re both disappointed, we both understand, so it’s okay.
He admitted he had originally planned to sing the congratulatory song at the wedding.
I knew about the couple’s wedding plans early on, and then I found out I would be appearing at the ‘MMA.’ When that schedule came in, I wondered how I should tell Woo Bin hyung. I had to tell him eventually. He was really disappointed. In my heart, I planned to sing ‘Popcorn’ as the congratulatory song, but we were both disappointed that it couldn’t happen.
When asked if he plans to make it up to his friend, Doh Kyungsoo joked about financial compensation and wondered what would be appropriate. He hesitated when asked about sending a video message and said it “might ruin the wedding atmosphere.”
Doh Kyungsoo also talked about meeting Shin Min Ah for the first time recently at a Disney event. They were there to promote their shows at the Disney+ Preview event.

The wedding is highly anticipated, as Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah have been in a relationship for about ten years and are known as one of the industry’s most beloved couples.
Doh Kyungsoo is currently busy promoting The Manipulated, where he stars alongside Ji Chang Wook. The Disney+ series is an action thriller with 12 episodes, and he plays a major villain for the first time, portraying a character named An Yo Han. He explained that he prepared for the role by focusing on a “childlike, simple” personality with intense determination.
At the same time, EXO is preparing for a major comeback. Their performance at the 2025 MMA will be their first appearance at the awards show in six years. It also leads into their eighth full-length album, scheduled for release in the first half of 2026, following a recent fan meeting.
