Lay has stirred excitement among EXO-Ls by hinting at the long-awaited EXO OT9 comeback His recent comments have sparked hope for fans eager to see all nine members reunite on stage.
In a recent interview with a Chinese media outlet, the Chinese K-pop star talked about joining EXO for a comeback in the fall. He also revealed discussions are underway regarding his return to the group.
Lay shared, “In September or October, we’ll see if we can meet with the members… I don’t know, I’m not sure right now, but we’re talking.”
Lay Zhang remained an inactive member of EXO for years due to his activities in China. He paused group activities in 2017 and only made his return in 2021. However, it’s important to note that Lay contributed to the group’s Chinese single “Tempo” in 2018.
In 2021, he participated in the production of EXO’s special album “Don’t Fight The Feelings” and appeared in the music video for the title track.
Then the group activities were halted due to members’ military enlistment. Later, they made a comeback in July 2023 with the 7th studio album “Exist.” 8 members participated in the comeback while Lay focused on activities in China.
EXO’s winter comeback last year was postponed due to a conflict between SM Entertainment and EXO-CBX. It is expected that the group will reunite with the OT9 lineup after Sehun is discharged from the military in September.
Another member Kai will be discharged next month and make a solo comeback in the first quarter of this year.
The group will likely begin preparing for their group comeback soon after all the details are finalized. Fans have been waiting for around 2 years after their last release and EXO’s comeback in the fall is surely going to break some records.
