Fans around the world quietly celebrated BTS V’s 29th birthday, especially in light of the recent plane crash tragedy that has affected many.

V turned 29 on December 30 while serving in the military in Chuncheon. Fans celebrated his birthday quietly in Chuncheon, paying respect to the national mourning period. They showed their love with small gestures, like buying meals for soldiers at cafes where he modeled or visiting his favorite spots.

In addition, BIGHIT MUSIC also decided to not release birthday content for V on December 30, as a sign of respect for the victims of the Jeju Air plane crash. Plus, the new “Run Jin” episode was also postponed.

His fanclub celebrated his birthday by paying for 250 drinks at Compose Coffee in Chuncheon. They also decorated the cafe and will run a birthday video ad at Chuncheon Station until January 29, 2025.

His Korean fan base treated military personnel to free coffee and desserts at a local cafe. Meanwhile, fans from around the world flocked to a photo studio in Chuncheon that the “Love Me Again” singer had visited. They shared their own “birthday tours” of Chuncheon on social media.

A special birthday bus, wrapped with messages from fans, made its way to Chuncheon, after previously appearing in Seoul. The bus was spotted in the 2nd Corps area of Sinbuk-eup, Chuncheon, decorated with congratulatory placards and banners.

Before his discharge in June 2025, V treated fans to two back-to-back winter-themed tracks: “Winter Ahead,” a heartfelt duet with Park Hyo Shin, and “White Christmas,” a collab with the iconic Bing Crosby.
