Kim Min Ju, formerly of IZ*ONE, and talented actor Chae Jong Hyeop are in talks for a swoon-worthy romance in ‘Shining’.
As reported by OSEN on November 11, Kim Min Ju has accepted the female lead role in the upcoming drama ‘Shining’, while Chae Jong Hyeop is in talks to join her as the male lead.
If rumors are true, a former IZ*ONE member has scored her first leading role.
‘Shining’ follows a romantic journey, exploring how love and relationships can provide strength, direction, and purpose, even in uncertain times.
Kim Min Ju stars as Mo Eun Ah, a hotelier whose life takes a dramatic turn when she reunites with Yeon Tae Oh at 30, a decade after their first encounter at 19.
As per an exclusive report by Sports Chosun in September, Chae Jong Hyeop plays Yeon Tae Oh, a train driver haunted by a tragic past. After losing his parents and injuring his brother in an accident at 19, Tae Oh struggles with loneliness and pain until he reunites with his lost love, Mo Eun Ah, at 30.
Kim Min Ju expands her acting career, taking on her first leading role in ‘Shining’. Her previous credits include ‘Connections, ‘Tempted’, ‘The Forbidden Marriage’, and ‘Hear Me: Our Summer.’
On the other hand, Chae Jong Hyeop has starred in ‘Serendipity’s Embrace’, ‘Castaway Diva’, ‘Eye Love You’, and more.
“Shining”, a romance drama starring Chae Jong Hyeop and Kim Min Ju, comes from writer Lee Sook Yeon and director Kim Yoon Jin. Produced by Kakao Entertainment, ‘Shining’ is currently casting its main roles and negotiating its broadcast platform for a 2025 release.
