Areum, a former member of the T-ARA group, tried to take her own life.
As per Lee Areum’s representatives on March 27, she made a drastic decision in the early hours, resulting in her being hospitalized for treatment. They stated that Lee Areum attempted this after leaving a suicide note, was hospitalized for treatment, and is currently unconscious.
Lee Areum is in the midst of initiating divorce proceedings from her husband. Back in 2019, Areum tied the knot with a businessman and has two sons.
Unexpectedly, in December of last year, she revealed her divorce plans and introduced her new boyfriend. She aims to begin anew with her boyfriend once the divorce proceedings are concluded, as per her explanation.
According to her statements, her husband was reportedly abusive towards her and their children, even going as far as choking her in front of their kids.
