The 33rd Hanteo Music Awards took place on Sunday, February 15, at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. It celebrated the biggest K-pop releases and achievements from the 2025 calendar year.
Founded in 1993 as a real-time album sales chart, Hanteo Chart has long been considered a trusted source for tracking physical sales worldwide. The awards show held its first in-person ceremony in 2023 to mark its 30th anniversary. Winners are selected through a combination of Hanteo’s global sales scores, fan voting, and judges’ evaluations.
The 2026 ceremony was hosted by trot singer Lee Chanwon and Girls’ Generation member Tiffany Young.
The red carpet featured a wide range of artists, including tripleS, ARTMS, LUCY, NOWZ, 8TURN, Billlie, Hwang Garam, Forestella, Hearts2Hearts, xikers, WEi, PENTAGON, Lee Youngji, among others.
Stray Kids emerged as the night’s biggest winner by bagging six awards, including a Daesang. Daesang winners included Stray Kids, ATEEZ, G-Dragon, and ENHYPEN. Hanteo Top 10 artists included aespa, NCT WISH, PLAVE, SEVENTEEN, and more.
Rookie of the Year award went to the promising young groups, CORTIS and Heart2Heart. The Post Generation Award recognized artists shaping the next wave of K-pop, which went to Isegye Idol and WEi.
Special Genre Awards honored artists across ballad, band, independent, R&B/hip-hop, trot, virtual, and OST categories. The OST category featured songs connected to popular dramas and films. It included contributions from D.O., Doyoung, Lim Young Woong, Paul Kim, Rosé, TXT, and Young Tak, as well as tracks tied to global projects like the Netflix film “KPop Demon Hunters.”
