G-Dragon Sells Over Half a Million Copies of “Übermensch” on Release Day

G-Dragon has made history with the release of his latest album, “Übermensch”. The K-pop icon has shattered his own personal records, achieving the highest 1st-day and 1st-week sales of his career.

On February 25, G-Dragon released his 3rd studio album “Übermensch” after 11 years, with the title track “TOO BAD” feat. Anderson .Paak and starring Karina of aespa.

His album “Übermensch” sold 639,176 copies on release day, surpassing the 1st-day and 1st-week sales of his previous solo releases. His last release Kwon Jiyoung recorded 23,970 copies on first day followed by 1st mini-album “ONE OF A KIND” (20,856), 1st studio album “HEARTBREAKER” (7,844), and second full-length album “COUP D’ETAT” (5,878).

In addition, G-Dragon’s “Übermensch” ranked #3 on the US iTunes album chart. It topped the album chart in 20+ countries such as Brazil, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, Russia, and more.

At the time of writing, the title track “TOO BAD” featuring Anderson .Paak and starring aespa’s Karina has reached its 10th roof-hit on Melon TOP 100. Moreover, he occupies the top 4 spots with tracks from “Übermensch”.

“TOO BAD” has surpassed 4 million views on YouTube so far. The lead single “TOO BAD” debuted straight at #1 on Melon TOP100 chart. With this feat, G-Dragon joined BTS and IU to be the only K-pop artists to ever debut straight on the aforementioned chart.

After an 11-year wait, the “POWER” rapper has finally dropped a brand-new full-length album. With his latest release, he is making waves in the music scene for his collab with Karina and Anderson .Paak to topping the charts. 

In addition to the album’s success, G-Dragon is set to thrill fans with his highly-anticipated world tour. The Korean leg of the ‘G-DRAGON 2025 World Tour [Übermensch]’ will take place at Goyang Stadium on June 29 and 30, in partnership with Coupang Play.
