Geum Sae Rok has been cast alongside Kim Jung Hyun as a lead in the upcoming drama Iron Family (working title).
On July 18, KBS2 confirmed that Geum Sae Rok will be appearing in the upcoming weekend drama Iron Family, scheduled to broadcast in September.
Iron Family is a drama that tells the story of the Darim family, who “iron” money instead of clothes. The show is directed by Sung Joon Hae, known for his work on Home For Summer, No Matter What, and Bravo, My Life.
With writer Seo Sook Hyang, who penned hits like Wok of Love, Miss Korea, Love and Law, and Pasta at the helm, expectations are high for this unique weekend drama.
In the drama Iron Family, Geum Sae Rok portrays Da-rim, the youngest daughter of a three-generation family-run laundry business. Da-rim has been living with an incurable disease that progressively narrows her vision since she was 14.
Despite her visual impairment, she remains fiercely brave and confident. When a potential cure is discovered, her hopes are crushed by the expensive treatment costs.
As she reunites with her childhood sweetheart Seo Kang Joo (played by Kim Jung Hyun) after 8 years, their past memories come flooding back, and they rekindle their romance.
Geum Sae Rok is known for her impressive acting skills in Youth of May, Soundtrack #2, The Interest of Love, and Class of Lies.
Lastly, Iron Family is set to premiere in September as the next drama to follow Beauty and Mr. Romantic in the same time slot.
