(G)I-DLE’s new album, 2, has already become a million-seller right out of the gate.
(G)I-DLE dropped their second full-length album, 2, on January 29. According to Hanteo Chart, the album sold a whopping 1,537,083 copies in just the first week of its release.
(G)I-DLE’s career has reached new heights with their latest album. Just four days after its release, the album surpassed their own record by selling over 370,000 more copies compared to their previous work, I Feel, which sold 1.16 million copies.
(G)I-DLE has solidified their position as one of the top 5 K-pop girl groups of all time. They’re now leading the pack after aespa with My World, NewJeans with Get Up, IVE with Ive Mine, and BLACKPINK with Born Pink. It’s an amazing accomplishment for (G)I-DLE, and they’ve definitely earned their place among these incredible groups.
(G)I-DLE’s album 2 skyrocketed to the top spot on the worldwide iTunes album chart, taking the #1 position in 24 different regions and countries, including Australia, Brazil, and many more.
Additionally, it’s dominating the Apple Music Top Album Chart, ranking first in 8 regions and countries such as Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, and Singapore.
2 is an album that really resonates with everyone in (G)I-DLE’s own unique way. It carries a hidden meaning as well, where the number ‘5’ is cleverly reversed to become ‘2’.
Currently, (G)I-DLE has been making appearances on popular music shows like Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’, KBS-2TV’s ‘Music Bank’, MBC-TV’s ‘Show! Music Core’, and SBS-TV’s ‘Inkigayo’.
